Amy S. Untied, Psy.D.
Dr. Amy S. Untied has over a decade of experience as a clinical psychologist, specializing in evidence-based treatments for trauma, anxiety, depression, couples therapy, and general behavioral health concerns. She earned her doctorate and master’s degrees from Xavier University and completed her bachelor’s degree with departmental honors in Psychology and Sociology/Criminology at Ohio University.
Dr. Untied has clinical experience in various settings, including inpatient, residential, and outpatient treatment. She approaches patient concerns using a cognitive-behavioral framework and develops tailored treatment plans. She has received extensive training in several therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for Depression (CBT-D), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), Integrative Behavioral Couple Therapy (IBCT), and Cognitive-Behavioral Conjoint Therapy for Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (CBCT-PTSD).
Additionally, Dr. Untied has served on several local and state organizations and boards, including as a past board member of the Ohio Psychological Association. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters focused on trauma, and she has presented at various national conferences on topics such as trauma prevention, alcohol expectancies, rural psychology, and integrated care.
